Lenox Square and WSB-TV Channel 2 are teaming up to host Salute to America, An Independence Day Celebration and the largest fireworks show in the Southeast. The community is invited to celebrate this 49-year-old tradition; the day’s highlights include:
- A sliding, scaling and bouncing Kid Zone, which will open at 5 p.m. and feature a giant slide, obstacle course, face painters, balloon artists and more.
- Live entertainment lineup beginning at 6 p.m. at the main stage including A1A Band, the Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show, Party on the Moon and Miss America.
- At 9:05 p.m., headliner Ashton Shepherd, a popular country music singer-songwriter will perform.
- The fireworks display starts at 9:40 p.m. and lasts approximately 15 minutes. Weighing in at just over three tons, a grand total of 4,184 fireworks are used in the show, which is topped off with two mini-finales prior to the grand finale.
